Tell Ethical Stories bridges the study and production of narrative texts
in the storytelling boom, for the ethical practice of strategic storytelling.
Tell Ethical Stories is for practitioners building ethical storytelling programs, and narrative scholars asking questions about the ethics of instrumentalized storytelling.
The storytelling boom resulted in a flood of stories about real people, told by organizations to describe the human impact of the organization’s work. This communications practice introduces ethical concerns that have caught the attention of the narrative ecosystem of the storytelling boom: those who study and produce its narrative texts, which includes narratologists, sociologists, communications professionals and nonprofit funders. Tell Ethical Stories seeks to bring those in the narrative ecosystem who are concerned with ethical storytelling, towards norms and standards that respond to practitioner experience and academic critique.
Tell Ethical Stories is a project of No Lip Service.
